Overview

The Department of English was inducted into St. Xavier College Jalukie in the year 2013 with a vision to build academic excellence that encourages and nurtures literary sensibilities, language competence and critical thinking. It aims to offer advanced career-oriented graduate programme imparting professional knowledge, employability and life-skills. Furthermore, to promote community growth and develop strong ethical values.

The Department of English builds academic excellence by encouraging literary sensibilities, language competence, and critical thinking. It promotes employability, life skills, ethical values, and interdisciplinary approaches through collaborations with departments like Ethnic Studies, Women Studies, and Environmental Studies. It prepares students for careers in research, law, publishing, business, government, and more.
